Lights On, Phones Working!

The electricity came back on today (Sept 30).  We got the phones and internet up last Thursday (Sept 25).

Tomorrow we'll get the fax machine back online.  The re-carpeting and re-finishing of the offices may begin tomorrow as well.

We're taking orders, shaping and finishing hats and sending them out!  Keep those calls and emails coming in.

Roof is fixed!

The roofers finished up the new roof today.

We shaped hats and shipped them out again today and the orders are coming in.

It's quite crowded in our warehouse space with all of our office stuff in there, too.  We had to move out of the offices so the floors, walls and ceiling could be torn out and remade.  The old stuff's been removed.  Now that the roof is fixed they can began putting the new in. 

Still no electricity and no phone lines, so we operating with cell phones and a generator.  No fax running.  We're getting email in the evenings for hot spots and dialup.

We're Shipping Again!

The roofers began putting on the new roof today and should finish up tomorrow. Thank goodness we've not had any rain since a week ago Sunday when we got soaked.

All the old carpet has been torn out of our offices, wet sheetrock cut out and wet ceiling panels removed.  Hopefully the new carpet, walls and ceilings will go in as soon as the roof is finished.

Having all of our office stuff in the warehouse with the hats makes for a tight fit. 

But we actually started shipping hats today! Hurray! We set up a hat lacing table and a hat shaping area.  We do not yet have a sewing machine set up to do  bound edges. 

We are still operating on generator power and our phone lines are down.

Out phones are forwarded to a cell phone, so we can still take your calls.  We do not yet have an operation fax.  Hopefully, we'll have our electricity back on and phone lines up by the end of the week.

HURRICANE IKE

As most of you know SunBody Hats is located in Houston, TX.  The Texas Gulf Coast recently suffered some damage from Hurricane Ike, SunBody was no exception.  We did see some damage to our warehouse, office, and sadly our hats, which we take so much pride in. 

We are STILL HERE, STILL IN BUSINESS, and EAGER to get back to doing what we do best, which is getting you quality palm leaf hats!

This first week after the storm (Sept 15th - 19th) we do not foresee any shipments going out.  We apologize to our retail and wholesale customers.  Our main means of shipping (UPS) is not picking up or delivering in our area until conditions improve.  We are still taking orders, answering the phone, and addressing ANY questions and concerns you may have...
We are committed to getting our staff and their families any needed aid or support which is of the utmost importance!  We have already begun to address our inventory and the damage done to our main location in Houston.
